Perfect Fit
Engineered using shorts from our archive, the fit of Foundation Shorts is truly incredible. Smaller front panels allow the legs to create shape without restricting movement. Split hems are incorporated for added mobility.

Waxed Stretch Cotton Fabric
New and improved waxed cotton fabric developed exclusively for Shorts Archive. Medium weight 97% cotton, 3% elastic fabric is treated with a wax finish. The wax finish makes the fabric hydrophobic to reduce odors from sweat. Elastic in the weft provides a generous horizontal stretch. The material becomes softer with wear and wash.

Elastic Waistband and Drawstring
Foundation Shorts have a highly adjustable waistband that is stitch reinforced to maintain the integrity of the elastic. The extended drawstring can be cut to the wearer's preferred length.

Deep pockets are a must for any pair of shorts. Side seam pocket construction is simple and subtle, perfectly suited to carry all your essentials.

Wallet Welt Pocket
Conor's personal touch, the wallet pocket located on the back left panel comes straight from the designer's daily experience. A signature to the Shorts Archive pocket system.

Faux Button Fly
One of the most interesting features is a button fly that is not functional. The buttons create a cosmetic effect where the fabric covering them fades with their imprint. At any point one desires, the buttons could be easily removed without compromising the construction of the garment.

Developed out of our personal need for an affordable short that is up to the standards of high fashion designers, the Foundation is crafted primarily with performance, quality, and fit in mind. Most brands rely on name recognition, fancy colors, or logos to push their product. Foundation Shorts need none of these things to stand out.

Patterned and sewn by hand before ever reaching a factory, we tried multiple prototypes and poured countless hours into getting our sample production ready.

Designer inspired materials
We dove into our archive to compare materials before finalizing the design. We ultimately decided on a stretch cotton to replicate Rick Owen's "TE" fabric with a waxed finish twist.
